Overview of the EBFN

The European Beech Forest Network e. V. is a registered association, currently comprising of more than 200 people from 24 Eurpean countries. The network emerged from the preparation process of the last extension of the World Heritage “Primeval and Ancient Beech Forests of the Carpathians and other Regions of Europe”.

During the general assembly the participants discussed the past and future developments of the World Heritage. On-going current and upcoming projects were the main topic of the meeting

Current projects of the EBFN

Numerous partners of the EBFN, such as the European Wilderness Society, are currently involved in two Interreg projects that have been submitted earlier this year. Both projects try to increase the management of ancient and primeval beech forests through increased knowledge and best practice exchange. The involved partners had the chance to meet face to face and discuss the current status of the projects. The fruitful discussions of the meeting underlined the commitment of the involved partners.
